I recently had the opportunity to visit Colorado to do some amazing engagement photos at Pike’s Peak. My husband, Scott, tagged along to assist, and being the nature-lovers we are, we spent almost the entire time hiking. When we weren’t hiking, we were eating at some ridiculously good restaurants, like Over Easy and The Rabbit Hole in Colorado Springs!

Colorado Springs is an amazing location for an elopement or destination wedding. Or even for an epic Connection Session! Of course there are mountains and amazing views all around. Pike’s Peak is under an hour away from Colorado Springs. And Red Rock Canyon Open Space is nearby, offering a completely different backdrop with the red rocks.

This is Helen Hunt Falls, near Colorado Springs. We hiked some nearby trails that were fairly easy, because it was our first day and we had to adjust to the altitude.

Since we were staying in Colorado Springs, we had to visit the Garden of the Gods. It’s a very popular place, and for good reason! I also did a two-hour horseback tour through the park- absolutely amazing and highly recommend it if you’re visiting!

Near Colorado Springs, there’s a trail named “Ring the Peak”. It basically goes around Pike’s Peak. The entire trail is approximately 63 miles! We hiked a portion of the trail, starting near Divide, Colorado. This place probably had the best smell I’ve ever encountered. This is Scott, savoring it:
