“I cannot remember the first time your soul whispered to mine, but I know you woke it. And it has never slept since.” -jm storm
This Indian Springs Metropark wedding was absolutely amazing! Sharon & Jonathan chose this venue because of its natural setting and uniqueness, and it turned out exactly as they had imagined. A laid-back, nature-inspired wedding that was so much fun!
It rained that day, but it didn’t matter.
The plan to have their ceremony outside under this giant oak tree almost didn’t happen because of rain. It rained heavily in the morning, and we weren’t sure if it would stop in time for the ceremony. The chairs and ground were soaked as everyone was getting ready. We kept a close eye on the weather but weren’t too stressed out because there was a backup plan, just in case.
If the outdoor ceremony spot was rained out, they’d move everything inside, and it still would have been beautiful. The Environmental Education Center, where the reception was, is a stunning space.
As the guests started to arrive, the rain magically stopped! A crew was able to get all the chairs wiped down, and everything proceeded as planned. When Sharon walked down the aisle with her dad, everyone was grinning ear to ear, and Jonathan was stunned as he watched this surreal moment.
A ceremony under the oak tree.
The couple was married in this amazing spot, under this giant old oak tree. I love it when couples choose to get married next to a tree because trees have their own magic, including healing, love, and protection. Oak trees, in particular, are known for: ancestry, fertility, health, luck, prosperity, protection, strength, success, wisdom.
Their ceremony wasn’t too long, but it was perfect. Afterward, all the guests headed to the Environmental Education Center building for cocktail hours, and we did photos with the families and wedding party.
Sharon and Jonathan planned out plenty of time for us to go explore the park for a little while. This gave them time alone to savor the moment with each other. I was able to capture their sweet connection and the joy they were feeling, which made me so happy!
The killer reception.
Back at the reception, everyone was told to take a seat and get ready for the grand entrance of the wedding party. After Sharon and Jonathan walked in (to everyone cheering and clapping) they cut their cake. This cake from Holiday Market was BEAUTIFUL and tasted SO GOOD.
Next came the speeches and dinner. Then dancing commenced. Bee Entertainment provided the setup and DJ’s, and they were AWESOME! The night was filled with so much laughter, fun, and PARTYING! I was having so much fun I ended up staying way past the time I was supposed to leave so I could join in the celebration. It was a wedding to remember!
Sharon and Jonathan are the most incredible humans, and they totally deserve a life of true happiness with one another. I wish them all the love, joy & success!
