Keweenaw Castle Elopement

This elopement at the Keweenaw Castle in Eagle Harbor, Michigan was absolutely perfect. The rugged, rocky shoreline of the Keweenaw Peninsula is one of Michigan’s greatest treasures. And an amazing place to say your “I do’s”.

A romantic elopement in the upper peninsula

Alex and James wanted a romantic, intimate wedding day with just close family. They chose the Keweenaw Castle because of it’s amazing scenery and it’s peaceful solitude. Located on the northern shore of the Keweenaw, the “castle” is more of a very big, rustic (but modern) house featuring a turret, which is super neat!

The guys started out the day by swimming in the lake, while the girls got their hair and makeup done. When I arrived, the guys were just getting out of the water and the atmosphere was one of relaxation and nature. That theme continued throughout the day. After the ceremony, we set out along the shore of the lake so Alex and James could have a little private time together. Then we all gathered inside the house for an awesome catered meal at the big dining table.

I had a great time documenting this romantic elopement at the Keweenaw Castle on Lake Superior! Here are some of my favorites from the day:

My passion lies with documenting your moments; it doesn’t matter if they are big or small- everything has an emotional story behind it that deserves attention from someone as passionate about telling those tales through photography.
