Tobermory, Ontario (as opposed to it’s sister-city: Tobermory, Scotland) is a landscape like no other. Imagine a world of giant rocks covered in fragrant cedar tree forests. Tobermory sits at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula, where Lake Huron and The Georgian Bay meet. It’s a small harbor town, where the highlights are the fish & chips, and the sweet shop (literally The Sweet Shop). What makes Tobermory an incredible place for a destination elopement is it’s otherworldly-ness. The beaches are all rocks- from baseball sized round smooth stones, to huge flat geometric rocks. The Bruce Trail runs along the coast and is one of the top hiking destinations in the world.
These images are from a Tobermory visit in early June. It was chilly, moody weather with plenty of fog. Just perfect! In the Spring, Tobermory is renowned for it’s abundance of wildflowers and orchids- some only found right here.
Any of Tobermory’s beaches or trails would be an amazing location for an elopement or intimate destination wedding. There are plenty of rental homes or Airbnb’s in the area to accommodate yourselves + guests.
