Copper Harbor Engagement Photos

There is something truly magical about the rugged beauty of the Copper Harbor region in Michigan. With its stunning rocky shoreline, sparkling deep Lake Superior waters, and enchanting wilderness, it’s a place that captures the heart. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing this couple from Illinois in this stunning location.

Adventures in Copper Harbor

Our session began as we met at Fresh Coast Cabins, where the couple was staying. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect. We started our shoot by the shore of Lake Superior, the most magnificent of the great lakes. We enjoyed the stunning views of the shoreline, rock formations, and towering trees.

Next, we explored some of my favorite spots along the Copper Harbor coastline. We hiked along rocky cliffs and visited a water cave in the rocky coastline where the water churns and swirls. I love the veins of white quartz that run down from the cliffs into the lake and stretch out as far as the eye can see.

Our next adventure took us to the highest point in Copper Harbor – Brockway Mountain. As we drove up the winding roads, we were treated to some of the area’s most stunning views. We had fun running from the black flies that were swarming us on top of the mountain (a typical annoyance in early June here).

As our day together ended, we watched one of the most breathtaking sunsets over the lake. The hues of pink and orange as the sun disappeared into the water provided a perfect setting.

Copper Harbor, Michigan, with its natural beauty and elevated energy, was the perfect backdrop for this resonant and soulful engagement photo session. I had a fantastic time capturing the lovely couple’s pictures, and it was a joy to see love and commitment like theirs come to life through our photographs. I seriously cannot wait for their wedding next year!
