It’s time for the next location spotlight! This is another Keweenaw Peninsula location, and I’m so excited to share my photographs of it with you. As I mentioned previously, it’s very important to me not to contribute to the destruction of amazing spots in nature, and therefore I will not publicly share exact details of my favorite locations in the wild. If you already know where these places are, great! Please help preserve these wild places for the future.
On the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan, there is a mesmerizing hilltop that vibrates with healing energy. It is a place of tranquility and beauty, with an eagle-eye view of the Keweenaw that can leave you awestruck.
A Keweenaw Vortex Site
A vortex is described as a site of enhanced energy that facilitates prayer, meditation, mind-body healing, and
creative thinking. Being sensitive to energy, I can tell you that this spot is one of the best places in the UP to experience energy upflow. Upflow sites can help with reflections where soaring to a higher perspective is what you want; feeling one with the universe or your faith’s view, answers to problems from an expanded/outside-the-box point of view, stress reduction & lowering blood pressure.
And that’s not all; this is home to a diverse ecosystem of local plants, mosses, and lichens. This hilltop has been generously opened up by the owners for visitors to explore and enjoy. If you do find yourself here, respecting the land is essential, as well as following the 7 principles of Leave No Trace.
- Perfect for small (10 people or less) groups of people who are ok with uneven ground and heights.
- Easily accessible and minutes from downtown Calumet.
- Rarely busy.
- Both sunrise and sunset are amazing here!
- No bathrooms- the closest one is 5 minutes away at a gas station.
- Best to avoid in early to mid-June because of flies.
- No permits or fees for doing photos here.
- Dog-friendly as long as you clean up after your friend and keep them on a leash.
- Many fragile mosses and lichens live here, so stay on bare rock or grassy areas.
The Keweenaw Peninsula is a scenic and historical treasure, located in the Western Upper Peninsula along Lake Superior. Here you’ll find waterfalls, wildlife, and lava flow landscapes with wonderful beaches to explore.
With a combination of healing energy, high vibrations, unique geological features, and rare flora and fauna, this hilltop can leave you feeling refreshed mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether it’s for your elopement or a photoshoot, this hilltop will provide you with stunning memories that will last a lifetime.
