The Keweenaw Peninsula in summer has its own kind of magic. When this family decided to get some updated photos during their stay at an Airbnb on Lac La Belle, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to do something a bit different. With four kids who weren’t exactly thrilled about “photo day,” we opted for a more relaxed approach—exploring the beauty around us and seeing where the day took us.
We started at Point Isabelle, letting the kids wander and enjoy themselves. It wasn’t long before they were knee-deep in the water, splashing around and skipping rocks. No forced smiles here—just genuine moments of fun as they played by the water’s edge.
We spent the rest of our time exploring and playing at the Airbnb on the lake, finding little treasures along the way and letting the kids be kids. By the time the sun began to set, they’d forgotten all about “hating” family photos. They were just caught up in the adventure, living in the moment. And that’s what truly makes a photo session special—capturing those quiet, genuine moments that tell the story of a family.
Sometimes, the best photos come from just being present and embracing the day as it unfolds. That’s the beauty of Keweenaw summer family photos—it’s about the experience, not the pose. Until next time, here’s to more adventures and memories made in the little moments.
