A Black Rocks Elopement: Marquette, MI
“What is the point in flying; if I cannot fly with you? Cut off these wings and carry them with you, I only need them when you are here.” -Tyler Knott Gregson
Peyton and Noah’s elopement at Black Rocks in Marquette was a genuine celebration of love and nature’s beauty. With their closest family members in attendance, they embarked on a heartfelt journey from Missouri to the Upper Peninsula to unite their lives with me as their co-planner, officiant and photographer.
Before the ceremony, we enjoyed an amazing dinner on the deck at Elizabeth’s Chophouse, taking in the views of Lake Superior. The food, as always, was incredible!
As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the cliffs of Black Rocks, Peyton and Noah proceeded to their chosen ceremony spot at the Black Rocks. Against the backdrop of the sunset, they exchanged vows and rings as I documented the ceremony in photographs. Peyton and Noah chose to include a tree-planting ritual. I brought the supplies (including a baby Douglas Fir from our property!) and provided the directions, and their moms read a tree-planting ceremony script that I provided as well. They get to keep the tree and plant it somewhere special to them. :)
