A Keweenaw Castle Wedding
The Keweenaw Castle in Eagle River, MI was the perfect setting for this late spring elopement in the Upper Peninsula. The couple rented the entire place out for themselves and their very small guest list, comprised of their closest family members.
My favorite parts of this elopement were the couple, the weather, and the guests. I love how genuine and easy-going Alex and James are. Plus, they’re REALLY good dancers. This day’s weather was absolutely perfect- warm and mild, with just enough cloud cover. Not a bug to be seen! And I loved meeting and hanging out with the guests at this wedding. It was so much fun!
The Keweenaw Castle is a beautiful house that has 4 guest suites and sits right on the shores of Lake Superior. Its remote, private location in the wilderness makes it pretty special. Shortly after this elopement the owners of the Keweenaw Castle took a pause from weddings on the property. But as of 2024 the Keweenaw Castle resumed hosting small weddings and elopements, and you can still book the suites and the property for these more intimate events. They’ve added a lot of luxurious additions to the property, too. It’s a perfect place to stay and have a beautiful small wedding ceremony on the shores of Lake Superior!
I’m Andrea.
Photographer, storyteller, wanderer of woods and old paths. I believe in the kind of love that’s quiet and powerful. The kind that shows up in small gestures, knowing glances, shared silence. I photograph real moments because those are the ones that matter most- the ones that hold the soul of the story.

These photos are beautiful, but I’ve never seen subpar work from Andrea. Congratulations to that wonderful couple!
