Pictured Rocks Engagement Session: Upper Peninsula
The Pictured Rocks in Munising, Michigan, have always been an iconic location for couples who want to capture their love in stunning engagement photos. With its picturesque backdrop and serene atmosphere, it’s no wonder why couples choose this place to immortalize their love. Today, I want to share with you our recent engagement session at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, where we captured the charm of the beautiful Miner’s Falls and the romance of the spectacular Miner’s Beach while trying out local drinks from Barrel & Beam.
Hiking Miner’s Falls
The first location for our engagement session was at Miner’s Falls. A beautiful cascading waterfall nestled deep inside the national park. The lush greenery of the surrounding area acted as a natural border to the beauty of this magnificent waterfall, and we climbed down to the bottom to get a few shots that showed the contrast of the couple and the falls. Being early June, the mosquitoes were awful, even with plenty of bug repellant, so we didn’t stay long.
Miner’s Beach Sunset
After spending some time at Miner’s Falls, we journeyed over to Miner’s Beach. The place was peaceful, and the colors of the sunset reflected in the water beautifully. The bugs were a lot less annoying here!
As the sun finally set, we decided to wind down and just have fun enjoying the beach and the spectacular views. I brought some local brews from Barrel & Beam for us to try- they were DELISH! It was a perfect way to end the day, as I documented the two of them sharing love and laughter amidst the beautiful scenery.
No session will be complete without some cold water dipping, so we ended up splashing around in the cool waters of Lake Superior as the red sun sank into the horizon. It was a fun way to end the session and appreciate the beauty of Pictured Rocks in a unique way.
The whole experience of capturing the beauty of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in an engagement session was magical. The love of the couple, the natural landscapes, and the local brews made it an unforgettable day. As a photographer, I had the privilege to document their love story amidst the mesmerizing scenery of the UP. I hope this blog post has given you an insight into the beauty of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and inspired you to plan your next outdoor adventure with your loved one.
