Marquette MI Beach Elopement
The setting for this intimate beach elopement in Marquette, Michigan was perfect. She knew she wanted a ceremony on the beach, with romantic candlelight. I helped them choose this incredible spot and helped them with the logistics. I knew the ceremony would need to take place at twilight for the candles to really shine.
A magical stop at the black rocks
After their unforgettable First Look, we had lots of time. So they decided to explore the black rocks of Presque Isle, and it turned out to be pure magic! It rained on and off, but with the rain came an incredible atmosphere and we were blessed with an unbelievable rainbow!
The candlelit beach ceremony
At twilight, with the sound of the waves crashing in the background and the sand serving as their makeshift aisle, they committed their lives to one another. It was a candlelit elopement on the beach in Marquette, MI; and it was amazing. Just them, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Upper Peninsula and a handful of their loved ones to witness. There was laughter, tears, and SO MUCH LOVE. It was a day they would never forget; a day that marked the beginning of their beautiful journey as husband and wife.
I’ve been anxious to share these photos because I want couples to see what a difference the lighting makes during your outdoor wedding ceremony. If this couple had their ceremony during the day, the feeling of these photos would have been completely different!
When you’re planning out your wedding day, keep the lighting in mind for your photos. One of the things I specialize in is helping couples with their timelines and choosing a ceremony time that reflects what feeling and aesthetic they want.
Such a beautiful location full of so many amazing memories – I love the rainbow (so lucky) and the candle photos at the end!
