Candlelit Beach Elopement in Marquette, MI

Here’s the story of Kelsey and Arturo’s candlelit beach wedding at Wetmore Landing in Marquette. Kelsey had envisioned a candlelit ceremony, and I helped her with ideas and recommendations to make it a reality!

After they both got dressed and ready at their Airbnb (which sadly is no longer available to rent), they shared a First Look. Arturo may have shed some tears- it was so beautiful. We went into the woods for a few photos because it was so dark and dreamy in there. Then it was off to dinner at a local banquet room where there was a lovely buffet and cake. Once everyone’s bellies were full, we headed over to the Black Rocks for photos with just the two of them. The atmosphere was moody and amazing, and although we got sprinkled on, a huge rainbow appeared. Sometimes rain can bring unexpected and beautiful surprises!

On the sandy beach at Wetmore Landing, a semi-circle of LED candles illuminated them as they exchanged vows at dusk, surrounded by their loved ones. It was just like Kelsey had imagined for her dream wedding. She was so excited she was literally shaking. Their ceremony was perfect, and afterward, we explored the cove barefoot by lantern.

I’ve been anxious to share these photos because I want couples to see what a difference the lighting makes during your outdoor wedding ceremony. If this couple had their ceremony during the day, the feeling of these photos would have been completely different!
